ADHD

The following are the first two of six limericks that describe the subjective experience of having attention deficit issues:

To do well in school was my goal.
And at times I could get on a roll.
But then I would slip
And my grades they would dip.
‘cause my mind I just could not control.

In class the discussions I’d follow.
My analysis may appear hollow.
When I was alone.
I just wanted to moan.
‘cause in pointless thoughts my mind would wallow.
